The Natrona County Commission on Tuesday imposed partial county-wide fire closure restrictions.

According to the agenda for its meeting, the restrictions apply to trash burning, fires in fire rings and grills, open flames in unimproved area, cutting torches and arc welding, fireworks and explosives, chain saws, and branding.

They are similar to those imposed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management on Tuesday for Natrona, Platte, Converse, and Goshen counties.

However, the county has two provisions not in the BLM's list.

The county has forbidden burning slash piles on Casper Mountain. Landowners with slash pile cleanup can take their slash to Tower Road, where it will be disposed.

And religious groups that want an exemption for religious ceremonies must apply for an exemption with the county fire warden. The application must provide details about the ceremony and safety precautions.

The fire warden, Natrona County Fire District and the Casper Mountain Fire District reserve the right to impose additional restrictions on allowed uses because of weather, range or fuel issues, according to the resolution.

In its only public hearing at its meeting Tuesday, the commission transferred a section of County Road 305 -- also known as Robertson Road -- to the City of Mills. The city will assume maintenance of that part of the road.

In its consent agenda, the commission declared its support for the local Economic Development Joint Powers Board's application to the Wyoming Business Council for a $1,828,895 grant for sewer infrastructure west of the Casper-Natrona County International Airport.

The grant, if approved, will be matched with $248,668 from Nalco Fab Tech LLC. The company will pay for any cost overruns.

The commission approved agreements for juvenile detention services between the Natrona County Sheriff's Office and the City of Casper, and Sublette, Carbon and Goshen counties.

It approved a contract between the Wyoming Department of Health's behavioral health division and the county for project to reduce homelessness for people with mental illness.

It approved $225,000 grant application to the State Loan and Investment Board for a structure fire engine for the Natrona County Fire Protection District.

The county commission formally approved Deputy County Attorney Heather Duncan-Malone to replace County Attorney Bill Knight, who leaves his post later this month.

It also approved Linda Nix as a new member of the board of trustees of the Natrona County Public Library.
