Keep Casper Beautiful has opened several Christmas tree disposal sites throughout the Casper metropolitan area.

Officials say the sites in Casper are located at Paradise Valley Pool, Mike Sedar Park, near the agricultural extension building on Fairgrounds Road, near the athletic complex on K Street and at Viking Court. Trees will also be accepted at the Balefill Compost Yard.

Sites are also located near Town Hall in Mills and the Evansville Compost Yard.

Beth Andress with Keep Casper Beautiful says the sites were opened Dec. 24 and will remain open through January. She also says all trees must be clear of ornaments, tinsel, lights and other decorations before being dropped off.

Andress also says curbside tree pickup will be offered to city of Casper trash customers through the end of January. Customers are being asked to call 235-8246 by Jan. 17 to set up an appointment.

Andress says the trees will be processed into wood chips and composted.
