CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Cheyenne officials are looking for money to remove the stench from a lake in Holliday Park.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reported Monday (http://bit.ly/xcapxf ) that a recent study proposed several ways to improving the water at Lake Minnehaha.

One solutions is to deepen the lake from about 3 feet to 8 to 10 feet. This could lower the temperature and reduce the algae bloom.

Another solution is installing a system to keep water moving so it doesn't stagnate. Other parts of the plan include installing systems that catch debris and sediment and putting in a wetland.

Parks and recreation director Rick Parish said one possible source of funding is local government money that the city may receive from the Legislature this year.

The fifth-penny sales tax also could help, he said.
