Casper native and Natrona County High School grad qualified for the USA Track & Field Championships in Des Moines to compete in the heptathlon. She is just one of 2 college athletes that were selected for the event with most of the competitors either professionals, former Olympians and potentially future Olympians. Taubert competed for Kansas State University at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and took 8th place with 5793 points. That earned her All-American status and the 5th best mark in that event in the history of the school. Taubert was the 2016 Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year back in 2016 for Natrona and is a 3-time state champion in the 300-meter hurdles and the high jump. The USA championships will be starting on Thursday with the heptathlon contested on Saturday and Sunday.
