Casper-Natrona County Health Department Board Members Reviewing Director Applicants

Casper-Natrona County Health Department board members say they're not rushing their search for a new agency director.

Former director Robert Harrington tendered his resignation in July after 15 years as the health department's head.

Board member Dr. Gail Mehnke says applications for the position are still being accepted.

“We’re not in an immediate need for a director,” Mehnke said. “We’re waiting to find the right person for the position, and, as soon as we find the right person, that’s when the decision will be made."

Currently, John Drennon, an environmental health division director, and Beth Eveland, a nursing division director, are co-directing the health department on an interim basis.

Mehnke says the board will review applications during its next meeting in October.
