CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — An elementary school principal from Casper is being honored by his peers.

Principals across the state have selected Rick Skatula as Wyoming's 2012 National Distinguished Principal. The award honors principals who work with programs to meet the academic and social needs of all students.

The Casper Star-Tribune (http://bit.ly/w535XM) says Skatula has served as the principal of Southridge Elementary School for 17 years.

He'll travel to Washington, D.C. in October and meet with winners from other states
