CASPER, WY – The Casper Cutthroats Baseball Club has announced the 2014 schedule. This year’s schedule features 24 regular-season home games at Mike Lansing Field. Opening Day is Friday, May 30th as the Cutthroats host the Northern Colorado Toros for a three-game series.

The 2014 home schedule boasts six Friday night and Saturday night games as well as a home game on Friday, July 4th. The final regular season home game is set for Saturday, July 26th versus the defending Mountain Collegiate Baseball League (MCBL) champion Cheyenne Grizzlies.

The MCBL has changed the format of their playoffs beginning this season. This postseason will feature a play-in game between the second place finisher hosting the third place finisher on Monday, July 28th. The winner will move on to play the first place finisher in a best-of-five championship series with games one, two and five played at the top seed’s home field. The Championship Series will begin Tuesday, July 29th and run through Saturday, August 2nd.

Cutthroats fans will see two new teams at Mike Lansing Field this summer, as the Gem City (Laramie) Thunder first come to town on Monday, June 2nd and the Sterling (CO) Xpress open a four-game series in Casper on Wednesday, June 11th.

“We couldn’t be more excited about our 2014 schedule,” said Cutthroats Owner/General Manger Aaron McCreight. “It will be great to have new teams in town plus the Cheyenne Grizzlies and Northern Colorado Toros back from last season. We will continue to have our popular fireworks shows every Friday night as well as a giveaway each Saturday. There will be a lot for fans to come out and enjoy at Mike Lansing Field in 2014.”
