A Natrona County man will be spending time behind bars, for spending other people's money, without their permission.

36-year old Byron Burke was sentenced 5-10 years at the Wyoming State Penitentiary for multiple counts of forgery.

According to prosecutors, from December of 2010 through February of 2011, Burke illegally obtained several blank checks from various Casper-area residents and from a Casper pawn shop.

He then used the checks for various purchases around the Casper area, and even tried to cash one of them at a check cashing center.

When asked for identification, he provided false I.D. and telephone numbers.

In addition to his jail sentence, he will also have to reimburse his victims a total of more than $3,000.
