A Buffalo man is dead following a rollover 30 miles southeast of Sheridan Sunday morning.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 34-year-old John Ipes was riding in a 1999 Suburban when the driver, 35-year-old Jennifer Thomas of Buffalo, swerved to miss a deer on U.S. 14/16 and rolled the SUV multiple times.

Ipes, who was not wearing his seat belt, was thrown from the SUV and died on scene.

Thomas was wearing her seat belt, was not ejected and was taken to Sheridan Memorial Hospital where she was hospitalized.

The Patrol says alcohol may have contributed to the crash.  Potential charges are pending.
