Buddy Streeper In 1st Place In Stage Stop Dog Race
PINEDALE, Wyo. (AP) — Buddy Streeper of Fort Nelson, British Columbia, has moved into first place in the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race.
The 30-year-old Streeper took over the lead after the fourth stage of the race Tuesday in Pinedale, Wyo.
Thirty-three-year-old Aaron Peck of Grand Prairie, Alberta, won the stage with a 2-minute, 56-second lead over Streeper, but Streeper is 6 minutes, 44 seconds ahead of Peck overall.
On Wednesday, the dog teams will race around Lander, Wyo.
Thirty-five-year-old Lars Lindh of Sweden remains in third place.
The nearly 350-mile race also includes stages in Idaho, Utah, and Montana.
