A Foot Of Snow Possible In SE Wyoming Mountains Wednesday
But not as much snow is forecast for lower elevations, and clearing skies are expected by this weekend.
The service posted the following statement on its website on Tuesday morning:
"Mostly cloudy and colder conditions will continue through Thursday with scattered light snow and rain showers expected across the region. Elevations in the mountains above 9000 feet in southeastern Wyoming could see an additional 6 to 12 inches of new snowfall Wednesday through early Thursday, with 1 inch or less expected for lower elevations. Those planning activities in the higher elevations should keep abreast of the latest forecasts outlining the potential of heavier snowfall in the mountains of southeastern Wyoming through Thursday. As a series of upper-level disturbances shift east of the region this weekend, skies will clear although cool fall weather will continue through Sunday with highs in the 20s in the mountains with 40s to lower 50s expected in the lower elevations."
