DayWeather Video Update – Nice Short-Term, Not So Much Next Week!

A fast-moving weather disturbance will slide across the state of Wyoming today.  However, expect more wind than precipitation.  Expect partly to mostly sunny skies throughout the entire state today.  There will only be a small chance for flurries or light snow showers across western and south-central Wyoming.  The only travel concern due to new snowfall will be developing slick and icy roads over the mountains and mountain passes.  Conditions stay mainly dry elsewhere.  Strong winds will be likely statewide through mid-day, with gusts between 35 and 50 mph.  Windy conditions will then continue for southeastern Wyoming during the afternoon and evening hours.  Blowing snow, lowered visibility, and slick/icy roads will continue to be a concern today over I-80 from Cheyenne through Rawlins.  Temperatures will also remain colder than normal statewide, with highs in the 30's to lower 40's.  Higher pressure will then build over the region on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  This will bring warmer and more settled weather to Wyoming during this time, but winds could still be strong at times.
