David Settle

A native of Fort Collins, Colorado, David Settle earned a degree in Broadcasting from the University of Wyoming in 1998.  He originally joined KOWB/KCGY in June of 1998 as a board operator.  He was named the full-time Sports Director in July of 1999.  In July of 2009, he added the title of Operations Manager to his responsibilities.  He has also worked as an intern for Wyoming Public Radio and KIIX radio in Fort Collins.  As the Sports Director, he is in charge of covering all aspects of the local sports scene.  He broadcasts five sportscasts every weekday, coordinates all sports programming for KOWB/KCGY, is a co-host of Sportsline Live three days a week, the primary host of Cowboy Talk and the “Voice of” the Laramie Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen, as well as the Laramie Rangers.  In 2007, 2008 and 2010, he won the award for “Best Play-by-Play” from the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters.  As Operations Manager, he oversees the day-to-day functions of both KOWB and KCGY.  David is happily married.  He and his wife Sara, have two daughters, Mikaela and Paige. Cowgirls Get Big Win over Griz, 79-65

Kayla Woodward scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Wyoming Cowgirls past the Montana Lady Griz, 79-65, Tuesday night in Laramie. Woodward took over and scored 12 straight points in during a 2 minute stretch of the second half that propelled UW to the victory.

Craig Bohl Introduced as New Wyoming Cowboys Head Coach

At a packed house in the Wildcatter Suites Sunday evening, University of Wyoming Athletic Director Tom Burman announced the hiring of Craig Bohl as the 32nd head football coach at UW. Bohl receives a 5-year deal, through 2018, and is guaranteed $750,000 in his first year. The contract will escalate each year with incentives.

Wyoming Cowboys Avoid Sting in 79-65 Victory

Five Wyoming Cowboys scored in double figures, and the Pokes held off a pesky Black Hills State Yellow Jacket squad 79-65 Monday night at the Arena-Auditorium. Larry Nance, Jr. led the way with 16 points and 7 rebounds. He scored 8 straight points to help UW pull away late.

Cowboys Top Hawaii 59-56 in OT on Record Day

Brett Smith accounted for 640 yards of total offense, 8 touchdowns and set numerous records, but it was a Stuart Williams 36-yard field goal in overtime that gave the Wyoming Cowboys a 59-56 victory over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Saturday at War Memorial Stadium. The two teams combined for 1417 total yards and 115 points in an offensive shootout.

Cowboys Cruise Past Coyotes 70-53

Riley Grabau scored a career-high 20 points to lead three Cowboys in double figures, as Wyoming pulled away from South Dakota for a 70-53 win Friday night at the Arena-Auditorium in Laramie. A 17-1 run by the Pokes midway through the first half keyed them to the victory.
