“We want to thank coach Clark for his contributions to our rodeo program, and we wish him and his family the best in their future,” Burman said, adding a national search for his successor would begin immediately.

“I wish to thank the University of Wyoming for the opportunity to be the rodeo coach for the past five years,” said Clark. “At this time, I wish to resign my position to pursue other opportunities for myself and our family. Thank you to all the people who made this a wonderful place to work. Thank you to all the student-athletes who dedicated so much of themselves for the UW Rodeo Program. The students built this program into what it is today, it’s something very special and they should be proud of what they’ve accomplished as student-athletes.”

Wyoming's men's team clinched its fourth straight Central Rocky Mountain Region crown this season and won four consecutive rodeos to close out the regular season. That earned the Cowboys an automatic bid to next month's College National Finals Rodeo inside Casper's Ford Events Center.

The Cowgirls also won the Laramie River Rendezvous Rodeo. They took three of five spring rodeos but weren't able to leapfrog Gillette College in the CRMR standings.

The UW rodeo program was moved under the direction of the University of Wyoming Athletics Department in July of 2022 even though college rodeo is not an NCAA-sanctioned sport.

The CNFR will take place June 11-17. For ticket information, click HERE.
