CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Residents near the wildfire at Guernsey State Park in southwest Wyoming are being allowed to return to their homes, but the park remains closed. The fire, which has burned about four square miles, started Saturday and led to the evacuation of hundreds of campers and park users. The weather is expected to turn drier today.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming National Guard helicopter is being sent to Colorado to help fight a wildfire there. Gov. Matt Mead's office says the state of Colorado asked for a Wyoming Guard Black Hawk helicopter and its four crew members to help in the fight against a fire west of Fort Collins. The state of Colorado will pay the cost of using the helicopter.

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) — Sheriff's officials say a recovery team has retrieved what is believed to be the remains of a man who drowned in the Flaming Gorge Reservoir 15 years ago. Forty-three-year-old Richard D. Herren of Green River fell out of a boat while fishing with his wife and a family friend on May 4, 1997. The body was recovered yesterday after a team found it in April using sonar and cadaver dogs.

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Casper College rodeo coach Tom Parker says watching students compete and succeed is what keeps him going back to the College National Finals Rodeo. The contest is being held this week in Casper. Parker, in his 22nd year with the Thunderbirds, says his role as a coach is to make sure his competitors have everything they need to succeed.
