The late former U.S. Sen. Malcolm Wallop will lie in state at the Wyoming Capitol this week before his funeral services are held in Sheridan.

Wallop died Wednesday at the age of 78 at his ranch in Wyoming.

According to the Kane Funeral Home in Sheridan, Wallop will lie in state from 2 p.m. Tuesday to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the capitol.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sheridan with Bishop Vernon Strickland officiating. Burial will be at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Wallop served in the Senate from 1977 to 1995.
