Wyoming Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Taylor Haynes says an alleged complaint that he doesn't meet the residency requirements to run for governor is "a pack of lies."

Wyofile, in a July 5 article, said a residency complaint against Haynes was under investigation by Albany County District Attorney Peggy Trent. Haynes, in a video released over the weekend on his campaign website, said he has been a Wyoming residents for 35 years, adding his campaign was preparing "ironclad' documentation that would address the allegations "in short order."

He also said he believes the allegations were timed to coincide with the start of early voting for the August 21 primary election, which got underway on Friday.

Haynes is one of a half-dozen GOP candidates vying for their parties nomination to succeed outgoing Republican Governor Matt Mead.
