Univ. of Wyoming Offers New Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Degree
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming will offer a new degree in outdoor recreation and tourism management.
The UW Board of Trustees recent approved the new interdisciplinary bachelor's degree program starting this fall.
The university says the new degree aims to expand and diversify Wyoming's economy, retain enterprising graduates in the state and recruit highly qualified students to the university.
It will be a collaborative effort between UW's Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources and the College of Business.
Students in the program will take a core curriculum that includes courses in business fundamentals, recreation and tourism, environment and natural resources, and social science.
They then will choose an area of concentration from one of five different options, including business and hospitality management, cultural and international tourism and outdoor recreation leadership.
