Three people died in a one-vehicle rollover crash about 50 miles north of Gillette last Tuesday, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol on Monday.

Randy D. Roddy of Redlands, Calif., was driving a 2012 Ford van southbound on Wyoming Highway 59 at 10:30 p.m. when he lost control for an undetermined reason, according to the news release from Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. David Wagener.

The van crossed the northbound lane and left the highway at mile post 165, slid down an embankment, tripped and rolled.

Roddy, 60, and his front-seat passenger, Delandis L. Richardson, 28, of Katy, Texas, were wearing their seat belts. However, troopers are investigating whether they were wearing their seat belts properly.

Willie L. Reeder of North Lauderdale, Fla., was a passenger in an unknown seat in the van. Reeder, 42, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the van.

They all died from their injuries at the crash site.

Speed, tire condition, driver fatigue, and snow and ice on the road are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash. This crash marked the 140th, 141st and 142nd highway fatalities in Wyoming in 2014.
