Teton and Laramie County Sales Tax Votes Held

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Voters in Laramie and Teton counties have decided sixth-penny sales tax propositions.

In voting Tuesday, Laramie County voters approved seven of nine ballot propositions although one to expand court facilities in Cheyenne will be subject to a recount because the vote was so close.

More than $118 million worth of projects were proposed, and voters approved $91.6 million worth, including an expansion of the county jail and a new county multi-purpose event facility. They rejected two indoor recreation facilities in Cheyenne.

In Teton County, voters approved six projects totaling $34.4 million, including a new senior living center, workforce housing, recreation center renovations and a central campus in Jackson for Central Wyoming College. They rejected expanding transit service and a pair of affordable housing projects.
