"Governor Mark Gordon has announced the appointment of Byron Mathews as State Fire Marshal and Director of the Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety."

Governor Mark Gordon has appointed Mark Young as Interim State Fire Marshal after the previous marshal, Mike Reed, stepped down after six years on the job.

The city faces more than $1.7 million in claims related to the fire.
