Several women entrepreneurs were invited to the Women Building Wyoming vendor showcase at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds Industrial Building on Saturday.

This competition will continue through August 2022.

Amid reports that some downtown Casper business owners are frustrated with the construction that has currently closed down part of 2nd street, from David street to Durbin street, the City of Casper has responded to some of the criticism and has tried to put business owners a little bit more at ease.

“This is an incredibly difficult position that business owners are in right now because it’s not just about making money. You’ve also got payroll; you’ve got people that are depending on that income; it’s a really difficult position to be in.”

The decision to sell the properties effectively ends the attempt by the Conference Center Consortium to place a $70 million hotel-conference center on that site near the David Street Station.

Three businesses placed their bids for the Ash Street properties (all exceeding their appraised values) on time and made their presentations to city council last month.
