They say the suspect had brown hair and a short beard and carried a hunting rifle and compound bow on a backpack.

Investigators determined the blaze originated from an abandoned warming fire in the upper reaches of the Hoback River drainage.

At one point, there were more than 1,000 firefighters battling the fire.

A Type I management team was set to assume command of the incident at 6 a.m. Monday.

Red Flag Warnings are in effect for these areas on Saturday and probably through early next week.

A second, smaller fire is burning in a more remote area of the Bridger-Teton forest.

A Type II incident management team assumed command of the fire at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
