A 31-year-old Greeley, Colorado man charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 37-year-old Laramie County man has pleaded not guilty.

The Laramie County Sheriff's Office admits it dropped the ball earlier this month by waiting a day to notify the public that an "armed and dangerous" murder suspect was on the loose.

The fatal shooting happened around 1:47 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4 at a home in the 300 block of County Road 161, about 11 miles south of Pine Bluffs.

A Greeley, Colorado man arrested in connection with a Laramie County homicide investigation has been charged with first-degree murder.

The Laramie County Sheriff's Office says Turcios-Romero was located around 1 p.m. Monday and detained without incident.
