The yield on the 10-year Treasury sank to 1.58% from 1.68% Tuesday, a big move.

The S&P 500 fell 69 points, or 2.4%, to 2,811.

Apple is down 4.4% while Caterpillar is off by 4%.

The Nasdaq lost 18 points, or 0.2%, to 8,102.

The S&P 500 rose 25 points, or 0.9%, to 2,933.
