Officer Ehlman then joined the pursuit and ended up as the lead vehicle while the suspect continued to shoot at officers. A shot struck Officer Ehlman’s vehicle in the front passenger door.

Officer Mark Ehlman received the Medal of Valor and Officer Geff Mims received the Meritorious Service Award.

For their actions in a shooting incident earlier this year, two Casper Police officers were not only honored by the Central Wyoming community, but they were given some of the highest honors they could receive.
