An Evansville man has admitted to crashing his vehicle into a hotel building.

Sean Griffin was given a six month suspended jail sentence, with six months of probation, after he pleaded guilty to one charge of driving under suspension and one charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say shortly after 10pm on Tuesday, May 5th, a call came in regarding a vehicle that had crashed into the Holiday Inn Express Building, located on Legion Lane.

One witness told police that he had heard a crash, saw some structural damage to the hotel and then saw a damaged vehicle leave the scene.

Officers later found the vehicle and traced it back to Griffin, who later admitted he was driving in the hotel parking lot, when somehow he was not able to maintain control of the vehicle and knew he was going to crash.

He added that he drove away, because he did not have a driver's license.

A portable breath test showed he had a blood alcohol content of .175 when he was booked into the Natrona County Detention Center.
