Recovery Organization Requests $200,000 to Resolve Debt
A representative with a Casper substance abuse recovery organization is requesting funding from Casper City Council to help get the organization out of the red.
12-24 Club director Heidi Foy requested $200,000 from the city’s optional one cent fund excess account Tuesday night to clear the organization of its remaining debt.
Foy says, if the request is approved by council, the organization will be able to focus entirely on elements of substance abuse recovery and personal development.
“It might not be smooth sailing, but it would open some doors of opportunity,” Foy said. “With that debt behind us, we’ll be able to really focus on providing services to those in recovery – we won’t have to worry as much about paying electricity bills and paying salaries.”
A public hearing regarding the request will be held at a later date.
