A cold front and weather system will dig south across the state of Wyoming today. Rain showers and mountain snow will develop across northern portions of the state this morning. Scattered rain and snow showers with mountain snow will then be possible throughout northern, central, and eastern portions of the state during the afternoon and evening hours. Roads will most likely stay wet across lower elevations into the late afternoon hours and could then become slick in spots by the evening hours. Slick and icy roads will be likely across all mountain passes today and overnight, including the Summit over I-80 and WY-28 near South Pass. There will be no new precipitation overnight, but watch out for a few lingering slick spots over lower elevations due to cold temperatures.  Strong winds are expected throughout central and eastern Wyoming today with the arrival of this cold front, with gusts between 30 and 45 mph. Meanwhile, expect only a small chance for rain showers and breezy to gusty winds across southwestern portions of the state. Temperatures will become noticeably cooler and near or slightly below average statewide today, with high temperatures in the 40's and 50's.

Our latest weather system will quickly move out of the region early on Wednesday and higher pressure will then build overhead for the rest of the day.  Slick, icy roads will continue over mountain passes into Wednesday morning.  There could also be a few isolated slick spots across lower elevations of central and eastern Wyoming.  Otherwise, expect increasing sunshine and improving road conditions statewide.  Winds, however, will stay strong through mid-day. Most locations across central and eastern Wyoming will see wind gusts between 35 and 50 mph, but there could be some occasional higher gusting throughout the more wind-prone areas.  Temperatures will also stay cool, but close to the average for this time of year.  Another round of unsettled weather will move back into the state of Wyoming on Thursday and Friday.
