Neil McMurry Recognition Set For Boys & Girls Club Breakfast

Folks at the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming were preparing to honor Neil McMurry at their annual recognition breakfast next month when they got news the iconic business man and philanthropist passed away Thursday morning.

Club CPO, Ashley Bright, says Neil McMurry was deeply committed to local youth and was a tremendous roll model for young people.

"He has been a leader, a distinguished leader in his community, which is really a criteria for the honoree. We were unanimous in the selection and we're excited that this is his time for us to say thank you."

Bright says McMurry supported their new building project completed a few years ago, added to an endowment for operations and programming, and recently offered to build the new boxing and financial literacy center for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming.

They'll celebrate his life at the Boys & Girls Club’s Recognition Breakfast on August 7th, at the Casper Events Center, 7am.
