Nathan Porter Pleads Guilty To Blackmail
A Casper man has admitted that he tried to force an under-aged girl into having sex with him, by threatening to release inappropriate photos of her.
Twenty-six year old Nathan Porter has pleaded guilty to one charge of blackmail.
Investigators with the Casper Police Department say in January 2015, the victim told them that a man was trying to extort money from her.
The girl had been texting with Porter and at one point sent him a topless photo.
Porter responded that he would pay $50 to have sex with her or a friend of hers.
If she didn’t comply, he would post the photo on Facebook.
Police then set up a sting and arrested Porter, who later confessed to the deed.
As part of a plea deal, prosecutors dropped one charge of sexual exploitation of children, and will seek either a one-year prison term, or a period of probation.
Porter is being held on $20,000 bond, and will be sentenced at a later date.
