A MAN ACCUSED OF ROBBING TWO BUSINESSES AT THE END OF DECEMBER WAS BOUND OVER FOR TRIAL IN NATRONA COUNTY DISTRICT COURT ON TUESDAY.

CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE STEVE BROWN AGREED AFTER AN HOUR-LONG PRELIMINARY HEARING THAT THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE SHOWED PROBABLE CAUSE THAT FORTY-YEAR-OLD LEVAR THOMPSON ROBBED TWO BUSINESSES IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS.

DURING THE HEARING, ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY DAN ITZEN QUESTIONED THE LEAD DETECTIVE ADRIAN WHITE, WHO OUTLINED THE INVESTIGATION, THE REVIEWS OF THE VIDEOS FROM BOTH BUSINESSES, INTERVIEWS OF WITNESSES AND CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANTS, AND AN INTERVIEW OF THOMPSON.

ON DECEMBER 31ST, WHITE AND ANOTHER DETECTIVE RESPONDED TO A REPORT OF A ROBBERY AT THE BIG D CONVENIENCE STORE ON EAST 12TH STREET, WHERE A BLACK MALE ENTERED THE STORE, PULLED OUT A GUN AND ROBBED THE CLERK AT GUNPOINT.

WHITE SAID THE SURVEILLANCE VIDEO OF THAT INCIDENT LED TO A REVIEW OF THE VIDEO DURING THE ROBBERY OF WYOMING HOT WINGS ON EAST 12TH STREET TWO DAYS EARLIER.

HE FOUND SIMILARITIES IN THE TWO INCIDENTS INCLUDING CLOTHING, THE WEAPON, AND THE SUSPECT'S MANNERISMS.

WHITE ALSO COMPILED A LIST OF PEOPLE WHO MATCHED THE DESCRIPTION OF THE SUSPECT.

THOMPSON WAS ARRESTED ON JANUARY 21ST.

A 31-YEAR-OLD CHEYENNE WOMAN CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED CHILD ABUSE AFTER ALLEGEDLY THROWING HER BABY INTO A DITCH HAS WAIVED HER RIGHT TO A PRELIMINARY HEARING.

LILLIAN JEFFREY WAS ARRESTED ON DEC. 9 AFTER CHEYENNE POLICE FOUND HER 2-MONTH-OLD DAUGHTER (K.J.) LYING IN A ROCK-COVERED DITCH AT LOVE'S TRAVEL STOP.

JEFFREY REPORTEDLY TOLD POLICE THAT "ALL OF HER CHILDREN ARE POSSESSED BY SPIRITS" AND THAT "K.J. WAS A DEMON AND THAT SHE CLEANSED HER."

K.J. SUFFERED MULTIPLE SKULL FRACTURES AND A COLLAPSED LUNG AND HAD TO BE LIFE-FLIGHTED TO CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL COLORADO FOR TREATMENT. SHE'S CURRENTLY IN DFS CUSTODY.

JEFFREY WAS BEING HELD ON A $10,000 CASH BOND, BUT LARAMIE COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE DENISE NAU ON TUESDAY REDUCED IT TO $5,000 CASH/SURETY.

IF CONVICTED, JEFFREY COULD FACE UP TO 25 YEARS IN PRISON.

MONTANA WILDLIFE OFFICIALS SAY 70 BISON HAVE BEEN SHOT BY HUNTERS SO FAR THIS YEAR.

59 OF THOSE BISON WERE KILLED ON THE WEST SIDE NEAR WEST YELLOWSTONE, WHILE 11 WERE KILLED IN THE GARDINER AREA.

THE CONFEDERATED SALISH KOOTENAI TRIBES KILLED 39 BISON, WHILE 24 WERE KILLED BY STATE HUNTERS.

THE MONTANA HUNTING SEASON RUNS THROUGH FEB. 15. FIVE NATIVE AMERICAN TRIBES HAVE TREATY RIGHTS TO HUNT BISON IN MONTANA.

ASIDE FROM HUNTING, TRIBES ALSO RECEIVE MEAT WHEN YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK CULLS BISON IN THE PARK. LAST YEAR, THE PARK CULLED MORE THAN 1,200 BISON.

THE PARK'S TOTAL BISON POPULATION IS ABOUT 5,400.
