A Powell man will spend time behind bars after admitting he threatened a woman with a gun.

Twenty-eight-year-old Joshua Armstrong was sentenced to 18-to-24 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent.

Casper Police say in early February, they received a call from the victim, who said Armstrong had a gun and was going to shoot her.

She said Armstrong accused her of a stealing a ring from him and that he pointed a pistol at her wanting to know where it was while they were driving around Casper.

The victim made one attempt to flee, but Armstrong stopped her from doing so and said he was going to kill her if he did not get the ring back.

She was able to talk Armstrong into driving to a site she said the ring was located.  Investigators say she was able to call police once they got there.
