A Powell man has admitted he threatened a woman with a gun.

Twenty-eight year old Joshua Armstrong has pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent.

Casper Police say in early February, they received a call from the victim, who said Armstrong had a gun and was going to shoot her.

She said Armstrong accused her of a stealing a ring from him, and that he pointed a pistol at her wanting to know where it was, while they were driving around Casper.

The victim made one attempt to flee, but Armstrong stopped her from doing so and said he was going to kill her if he did not get the ring back.

She was able to talk Armstrong into driving to where she said she knew where the ring was, and once they got there, she was able to call police.

Armstrong originally denied the incident, and told investigators that he only had the gun to protect himself.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors will seek no more than an 18-to-24 month prison sentence, which will be handed down at a later date.
