Here’s How To Be Entertained By Visiting Casper Area State Park
Summertime is here and summer events are scheduled for Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park just outside of Casper. Just 6 miles outside of the Casper/Evansville area, the 351 acre park was once a rock quarry and purchased in 1981 by the state.
The amount of things to do within the state of Wyoming is amazing, you could stay busy every day of the summer at Edness alone. Hiking, biking, watching, swimming, rowing, riding, throwing, viewing and fishing are all possible at the day-use State Park.
You are welcome to visit the park any day, from 7am-10pm and if you're looking to have a family get together or picnic and want to rent a shelter, it's simple and can be done online here.
Since E.K.W. is a state park, a daily use fee is required. If you were planning on recreating there all summer/fall/winter, it would be a good investment to purchase an annual state park permit for $48.
On top of all the daily opportunities you have, there are also special event that will be taking place throughout the summer.
Since the area has been designated as an important area for bird, it's a great place to check out out fine feathered friends. You can do that during the build a birdfeeder with the kids event June 27th.
There are night hikes, nature hikes, canoeing days and movie nights coming.
