Living in Casper, you may take the opportunity in our backyard for granted.

Casper Mountain.

All year long, there is something to do that can keep you busy and entertained and get you exercising while you enjoy the great outdoors. If you don't believe me, there's a big event coming on April 6 that you will want to attend and check out.

It's Winter Adventure Day 2024 at the Casper Mountain Biathlon Center at McMurray Mountain Park. There will be lots of winter activities for you to try out.

  • Animal Caching
  • Sledding
  • Fat Bikes
  • Snowshoeing
  • Shooting
  • Snow Art
  • Learn Winter Safety
  • Education
  • Science
  • Leave No Trace

The day gives families that may not have experience with any of those options a chance to get out, learn, and play.

BLM education technician Stacey Moore says in a BLM press release:

I often hear from parents that they want to play in the snow with their kids, but don’t know how to ski or snowshoe and worry about the difficulty. We want everyone to feel included, so we’re providing equipment, lessons, and activities for all ages. Having the event in April also often allows for some beautiful weather to play in the snow!

The event is free, but you should pre-register to ensure that equipment and lessons are readily available.

You'll learn from biathlon skiers, BLM, Boy Scouts, Nordic Club, Central Wyoming Trails Alliance, National Ski Patrol, The Nic Art Museum, and Science Zone. So, it will be a full, fun, family adventure day that begins at 9 a.m. and continues into the early afternoon.

If you'd like to register early, follow this link and complete the form by April 1.
