The city of Casper will hold another interactive one-cent sales tax forum at Casper City Hall next Wednesday.

“We’re hoping that this one will be pretty large,” Assistant to the city manager Fleur Tremel said. “We’re going to have it in the council chambers here at city hall – just stop in after work, have some snacks and do some polling electronically.”

Tremel says, during the meeting, attendees will be asked their opinions on multiple one-cent funded categories.

“(We’re going) to ask you what you think is important and what you think is not important,” Tremel said. “You’ll be asked (if) you think one-cent (funds) should be spent on, for example, water – to subsidize water rates and to build new water lines.”

The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Using data from over 5,000 surveys gathered from previous public forums and online polling, water, fire and EMS, streets and police are the areas that concern Casper and Natrona County residents the most.

City officials have been holding interactive one-cent forums since late January.

Natrona County voters will decide whether to renew the tax for a 14th consecutive time this November.
