Gorbachev to Speak at UW
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming hosts one of the most high-profile world leaders in recent times when former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev visits Friday.
Gorbachev will give a speech and participate in a question and answer session with former U.S. Sen. Alan Simpson.
The event is free and open to everyone. It is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium.
UW says doors to the arena will open at 2:30 p.m.
People who plan to attend should be aware that no large bags or backpacks will be allowed in the arena as well as no photographic, audio or visual recording equipment.
No parking tickets will be issued that day at the UW parking lots except for major infractions such as fire zone and handicapped area violations.
