CodeRED Now For Android

CodeRED the Natrona County Emergency Mass Notification system in place for the last month is now available as an App for most smartphones.

Emergency Management Coordinator, Lt. Stew Anderson says they just got word on Tuesday that a codeRED version for Android phones is now available along with the App for iPhone.

He says the system is designed to get out emergency information, like severe weather, fast.

"Or we may send out other community warning issues, whether it be a boil water issue or whether it be a missing child, or whether it be an evacuation because of a hazardous material release.

If you don't have a smartphone you can register by computer for email alerts or for text or voice messaging on your cell phone.
