Law enforcement agencies across the country will honor those officers that have been lost in the line of duty on Friday, May 20.

The Wyoming Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony will be held at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy in Douglas at 11 a.m. The annual ceremony is held in conjunction with National Police Week.

Immediately following the memorial service, retired Douglas Police Chief Lori Emmert will be inducted into the Wyoming Law Enforcement Hall of Fame. Emmert is the first female inductee.

Both ceremonies are free and open to the public. Those traveling to the ceremonies should be advised that the road to the Academy will be blocked off at 10:45 a.m.
