If you're looking to expand your skills, or if you're just trying to find an activity the whole family can enjoy together, the Casper Rec. Center always has a plethora of options to fit your needs. Beginning January 20th, 7 new Arts & Crafts classes open up. Kid’s Craft Corner -

Have six weeks of fun learning a variety of crafts including making soap, lotion, bubble bath, candles and some Native American crafts. Class is for ages 7-14 and meets Mondays from 4:30-5:30 pm.

 

Weaving for Kids -

Ages 10-14 will use everything from bailing twine and paper to human arms to create permanent and temporary art. Go home with some cool originals and a new appreciation for weaving and the related arts of braiding, netting and twining. Class meets Thursday from 5:30-6:30 pm.

 

Zentangle® Family -

Parents, grandparents, teens, tweens & kids will learn and enjoy this fun art together. Zentangle is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. A Zentangle startup kit is included with registration fee. Class meets on Thursday from 6:00-7:30 pm beginning February 6.

 

Beads & Things -

Create an original piece of jewelry or art using a variety of different materials and beads. This class is for ages 8-14 and will meet on February 8 from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm.

 

Adult Weaving Workshop –

If you don’t have time to commit to several weeks of classes, try this one day workshop to learn the basics of weaving and get an introduction to inkle weaving. Class held on Saturday, February 1 from 9:00 am-1:00 pm.

 

Beginning Crochet & Knitting –

Learn to crochet and knit an easy scarf or hat and stay warm in the Wyoming winds. Class meets on Thursday from 6:00-7:30 pm.

 

All Media –

Come and have fun exploring your favorite art medium whether it be acrylic, oil, collage or watercolor. Class begins with a critique and feedback session and is followed by creative tips from local artist, Michele McDonald. Gain inspiration from the other artists in the class and have the opportunity to present your work at a student show in May. All levels welcome for the Tuesday morning adult class that meets 9:30 am-12:30 pm.
