It was a record amount. The Olivia Caldwell Foundation recently presented a check for $100,000 to their research team, the neuro-oncology research lab headed by Dr. Nick Foreman at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Officials say with this latest donation, the foundation has now given $325,000 to pediatric cancer research in just five years. The Olivia Caldwell Foundation has now funded more than 30 research projects, which they say has led their research team to receive millions of dollars in additional grant funding from the National Cancer Institute.

“2018 has been a truly fantastic year for us,” said Katie Caldwell-Burchett, CEO and Founder of the Olivia Caldwell Foundation. “We received an extraordinary level of support from the Casper community, which enabled us to give much more than ever before. We are excited to see what 2019 brings and humbled to be able to make such a difference in the fight to find a cure for pediatric cancer.”

The Olivia Caldwell Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Casper, was founded in November 2013 after Wyoming resident Olivia Caldwell  passed away from brain cancer at just 20 months old. The foundation raises money for pediatric cancer research and programs.
