It will be a warm, windy day across much of the state.  Strong west to southwest winds will gust to 35 and 40 mph at times.  This wind and the sun will allow temperatures to rise into the 70s to near 80 in most areas.  All of this, however, also will cause a very high to extreme fire danger.  Much of the state is under a Red Flag Warning through 12 midnight.

Then big weather changes head our way.  On Wednesday a strong cold front will cross the state.  Temperatures will cool by some 20 to 30 degrees in northern and central Wyoming with highs mainly in the 40s and 50s.  Showers will move through the northern third of the state through the afternoon as well.  Mountains and higher elevations in northern Wyoming will see a mix of rain and snow to all wet snow at times.  Further south, temperatures will still be fairly mild on Wednesday, but by the evening and night the front pushes in bringing much cooler temperatures, showers and a rain/snow mix to those areas.

Travelers will want to be aware of a rain/snow mix and a few developing slick spots on state highways, along I-90 and on northern portions of I-25 during the day Wednesday.  Higher elevations of I-80, especially in the southeast near Laramie and by The Summit,  will see a rain/snow mix to all wet snow late Wednesday night
