A freshman at Glenrock High School is suspended for carrying weapons to school.

Kirk Hughes, superintendent for Converse County School District #2, says the district has a no-tolerance policy regarding weapons, in this case a BB gun and knife.

"The student was searched and we did find a BB gun pistol in his back pack. We also did find a pocket knife in his coat jacket."

Hughes says the incident was reported to high school administration by other students. He says the student when questioned gave no explanation for why he was carrying them.

Hughes says their weapons policy requires a 10 day suspension, "and then by law he would be expelled for one school year."

Hughes commended the students who stepped forward and reported the weapons.
