When you think of fine wine, there's several places that come to mind; Napa Valley in California, the Burgundy region of France, and Gillette, Wyoming. That's right, Gillette, Wyoming.

This week, Wine Spectator Magazine released their 2015 Restaurant Awards, recognizing restaurants across the country with the best wine selections. Two Wyoming restaurants received their top rating, the Best of Award of Excellence. Surprisingly, one of them is The Prime Rib Restaurant and Wine Cellar in Gillette, which was cited for their outstanding selection of California, Bordeaux and Italian wines.

Not surprisingly, the ten other Wyoming restaurants recognized with their Award of Excellence are in or around the Jackson area. Dornan's, in nearby Moose, Wyoming, also received the Best of Award. Other establishments that made their list include the Local Restaurant and Bar, Nikai, Snake River Grill, The Silver Dollar Grill, Trio an American Bistro, and the Wild Sage Restaurant, all of which are located in Jackson.

Two restaurants from Moran, Wyoming, The Dining Room and The Mural Room also made their list. The Couloir Restaurant in Teton Village also received the annual Award of Excellence.
