A weather system will push out of the region and higher pressure will build over western Wyoming today.  Light snow or brief snow showers will be possible across eastern Wyoming and in/near the mountains early this morning.  Otherwise, expect partially clearing skies and cold, but close to average temperatures statewide.  Windy conditions are expected throughout central and southern Wyoming today, with gusts between 35 and 50 mph.  High winds will also continue across southeastern Wyoming into the early afternoon hours, with gusts between 50 and 60 mph.  Daytime highs will remain in the 20's and 30's.  We will be in between weather systems during the day on Christmas Eve.  This will keep skies partly to mostly sunny and conditions mainly dry.  Winds, however, will be strong at times throughout southeastern Wyoming.  Temperatures will also remain close to average.  An Arctic cold front and weather system will then approach northern and western portions of the state by early Christmas morning.  Snow showers will develop across these areas by morning and continue to spread across central and southeastern Wyoming by the afternoon hours.  Poor travel conditions (reduced visibility with slick, icy and some snowpacked roads) are expected across all of eastern Wyoming  on Thursday afternoon into Friday morning.  Slick and icy roads will also be possible across western Wyoming.
