Small Chance For Rain & Snow Through Sunday, Becoming Windy This Weekend

A fast-moving weather system will move across northern Wyoming this morning, while higher pressure controls the weather across the rest of the state.  Expect mid and high-level cloudiness, gusty to strong winds (gusts between 35 and 50 mph), and slightly cooler temperatures statewide.  Highs today will be in the 30's and 40's, with some lower 50's in the far eastern plains.  There will be a small chance for rain and snow showers in northern portions of the state through mid-day.  Otherwise, expect mainly dry conditions.  An upper-level weather system and cold front will then slide across the entire state late Saturday into Sunday.  For Saturday, expect thickening clouds, strong to high winds, and developing rain and snow showers.   The best chance for precipitation will be in northern portions of the state.  Roads will be wet during the day across lower elevations, then could freeze at night and form black ice.  Temperatures, however, will remain unseasonably mild for the start of the weekend.  On Sunday, we will see partly to mostly cloudy skies, strong to high winds, and cooler temperatures.  There will also be another chance for rain and snow, with the best chance being in northern, western, and south-central Wyoming.
