Road Impact Forecast for Friday, April 22 [VIDEO]

A ridge of high pressure will continue to be settled over the state of Wyoming today.  Expect sunny to mostly sunny skies and unseasonably mild temperatures statewide.  High temperatures will be in the 60's and 70's.  There will be just a minimal chance for showers and thunderstorms in far southwestern portions of the state.  Winds will be breezy to gusty today and will then start to increase across central and southern portions of the state overnight.  An upper-level weather system and cool front will then approach the state on Saturday and will continue to push east on Sunday.  For Saturday, expect thickening clouds, gusty to very strong winds, and developing showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures, however, will remain warmer than normal.  By Saturday night, watch out for high winds (gusts of 50 to 70 mph) across the more wind-prone areas.  There will also be a chance for light snow or a rain/snow mix over the mountains and higher elevations of I-80.  We will then see cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, gusty to high winds, and significantly cooler temperatures on Sunday.  Rain and mountain snow showers are also looking likely for the end of the weekend.
