Snow will fill into the western mountains and through northern Wyoming as the day wears on.  A Winter Storm Warning is in effect through Saturday morning for the northwest mountains.  Six to 12 inches of snow are expected along with strong, gusty winds around the mountain peaks.

Speaking of the wind, strong west to northwest winds are expected in southern Wyoming today.  Conditions will stay mainly dry in the southern half of the state.

A significant change in the weather pattern heads in this weekend.  A cold front crosses the state on Saturday, which will lead to colder conditions statewide.  Scattered snow showers will spread from north to south through the day and night .  The mountain ranges will see the most snow accumulations, with lighter amounts expected on the plains.

Sunday may feature a few flurries on the eastern plains.  Otherwise expect a mainly dry day, but it will also be even colder.  Highs on Sunday will only be in the teens and 20s.
