Anyone with an interest in maintaining and shaping the future of rural Wyoming is invited to attend a Wyoming Rural Development Council training workshop May 30th in Cheyenne.

Currently about 300 community assessment volunteers are part of the development council team who offer assistance in assessing community needs.

"We kind of identify what the problems are. We try to offer a solution, but we don't do the work for them. We just make them aware of what we have heard from the citizens of the town."

Jo Ferguson, senior rural development specialist says common topics considered in an assessment include economic development, education, infrastructure, housing, and recreation.

The Wyoming Rural Development Council workshop is free of charge and happens May 30 in Cheyenne.
